I Agree With Hoekstra’s Website
I don’t often agree with anything associated with this guy, and with good reason.
Remember that Hoekstra, along with fellow chickenhawk “Rapture Rick” Santorum, claimed to find 500 WMD in Iraq back in 2006 (as can be found in our archives,) and promised us a lot more of them. Then, the two of them apparently proceeded to bury them, or sneak them into this country, or something-because we’ve never seen any of the WMD they found (when I was uppity enough to complain about it on a post, Hoekstra’s office actually dropped by to see what I’d written about the Man With The Translucent WMD.)
But that’s not all we should remember Pete for. No, Pete is a man of many accomplishments. We’ll hit some of the high spots before continuing.
-About a year ago, Pete kindly Twittered his location in Iraq to his followers, thereby blowing the lid off a “secret mission.”
-Hoekstra claims that any nucular activity at all is really bombmaking (which means, I guess, that the Europeans and their WMD-making power plants are even more WMD-mad than the Iranians are supposed to be.)
-Oh, and for those who didn’t know how to make a nucular bomb yet, Hoekstra kindly made sure that the “howto” information found its way onto the Internets, in the Arabic language no less.
This ignorant, loudmouthed clown was once the Chairman of the House Intelligence panel, which tells us all we need to know about how seriously to take the Ruushpubliscums when it comes to national security issues.
And yet…. the MSM hangs on his every word like a bunch of male dogs surround a bitch in heat, microphones in the air instead of noses. Hoekstra has used his supposed “expertise” in intelligence to try to make the Detroit incident into a fundraising tool for his run for the Governor’s Office in Michigan. That is either incredibly ballsy, or stupid beyond words-and I am sure you know which I think it is.
Yes, we of the liberal blogosphere have been following “Wrong Way Pete” and his clown show for years, but we don’t have to work as hard at it as we once did.
Why? Because there’s a new site out there that is doing it for us.
Ladies and Gentlemen (and those who qualify as neither,) it is my distinct pleasure to introduce you to PeteHoekstra.com.

Let’s drop by and see their mission statement.
We are taking Pete Hoekstra to task because we are from Michigan and see him as a glaring example of everything wrong with politics. He truly is “dangerous, polarizing, and bad for Michigan.” The state needs the optimism that a fresh perspective brings. And Michigan needs someone who can help all Michiganders, not just “Red” ones. Ultimately, his divisive style would be worse than where we are today….and things are obviously pretty bad!
The power of incumbency makes it very difficult for outsiders to break in and shape Washington. That’s why everything is such a mess. It isn’t just George Bush or Barack Obama. Pete Hoekstra or Nancy Pelosi. Mitch McConnell or Harry Reid. The problem is the system. And without fresh blood, it only gets worse.
So, hopefully we can be a force of true change in politics — not the tug-at-the-heartstrings stuff Obama talks about, but real, legitimate government that makes the US a better place to live.
Thank you all for helping us spread the word about our efforts!
Now I’ll just bet you’d never see something like this on Pete Hoekstra’s website, did you?
I know I didn’t. I also know that I couldn’t agree more with what the site says.

“The problem is the system. And without fresh blood, it only gets worse.”
Uh, except that at one point Hoekstra was fresh blood, just like his fellow jerks, Steve King, Joe Wilson, Michelle Bachmann and so many more. Just fresh blood isn’t good enough and neither is rapid turnover.
What matters is replacing jugheads and jerks with good, solid, sensible and honest people who go into public service to serve the public as a whole. When good people actually make it into public office, keep them there as long as they’re trying to do worthwhile things at least most of the time.

A thorough housecleaning is needed. It’s true that there are still good people in CONgress, but you probably won’t run out of fingers counting them.
