You know, we just don’t teach enough history in this country. Not even recent history.

I think that events of, say, the last four or five decades are pretty important. So sometimes I like to give out a history lesson here.

Today’s lesson, as you might imagine, is on one of the biggest warmongers this country has ever seen. “Holy Joe” LIEberman never runs out of places to send young American servicepeople, and he seems to think that the cost in blood and treasure are well worth it. He says that we gots to fight them turrists wherever they is, or they’ll be HERE next!

If I recall things correctly (and I do,) a lot of folks said that if we didn’t prevail in Vietnam the hammer and sickle would fly from the Capitol in no time at all. Nixon, in fact, did exactly what LIEberman is suggesting we do now when he expanded the Vietnam war with an invasion of Cambodia. Therefore, I think we should all ask just how LIEberman regarded that “make or break” war that was being fought by the people of HIS generation?

Lieberman did not serve in the military; he received an educational deferment while in school, then a family deferment (as a father) upon his law school graduation in 1967…

Don’t. That. Figure. LIEberman couldn’t bring himself to put on a uniform. Since then, of course, he’s happily aided his monkey idol in dispatching thousands of Americans to their graves for nothing (and quite likely ending our country once and for all with a bankruptcy.) And of course, we all know for sure now that Iraq was a contrived war based on lies. Just as we know there is little to no threat from “al Qaeda” left in Afghanistan.

None of that matters to Joe. We know how crestfallen he was when he couldn’t get a bunch more Americans killed in Iran. But that hasn’t stopped him from continuing to try to get more Americans offed…

According to Fox “News” on Sunday, Connecticut Independent Senator and Chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, Joe Lieberman, sat down with “Fox News Sunday” and said that if the United States doesn’t act pre-emptively in Yemen then it will be tomorrow’s war, “Iraq was yesterday’s war, Afghanistan is today’s war. If we don’t act preemptively, Yemen will be tomorrow’s war.”

The Hill reports that Democratic Pennsylvania Senator Arlen Specter, also a guest on the show, concurred with Lieberman’s assessment and said preemptive strikes should be option worth considering but added that “it’s a big complex issue.”

Lieberman continued that the focal point in the war on terror should be in Yemen as two recent attacks were connected to the nation and an al-Qaeda presence is continuing to grow. Major Nidal Malik Hasan, an army officer who killed 13 people at Fort Hood last month, and Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, a 23-year-old Nigerian who attempted to blow up a Northwest Airlines jet from Netherlands to Detroit, were connected to Yemen in one way or another.

Now WAIT JUST A DAMNED MINUTE. I know LIEberman was out insisting that IRAQ was the “focal point” less than a year ago. What happened with THAT, Joe? And what are you going to do when your pre-emptive strikes stir up a hornet’s nest, and we don’t have any more soldiers for you to throw at it?

This is classic right wing fearmongering at its very sickest. While LIEberman wails for more war, and his Rushpubliscum kinsmen cry about this plane incident being all Obama’s fault (although for some reason or other “shoe bomber” Reid wasn’t Chimpy’s fault,) all of them are eagerly, almost desperately trying to keep us from finding out exactly what the hell this is all about. You know why? Because we’re going to find out that (1.) this guy (Hasan) was known to be bent already, (2.) “al Qaeda” isn’t even a terror organization anymore, but rather cells of fanatics who have adopted the name for their own purposes, and (3.) LIEberman, though not a fundie “Christian” like his Rushpubliscum brethren, has about the same point of view as they do when it comes to those “towelheads.”

Oh, and of COURSE damn near every one of them is a Vietnam-era coward as well.

If they can’t get us into Iran, and they can’t get us into Somalia, then maybe they can get us into Yemen-even though we don’t have the personnel, materiel, or funding to do it. These people are too dangerous, too corrupt, and too damned stupid to listen to anymore. Reid needs to put this stupid son of a bitch out to pasture as soon as the healthcare votes are done.
