A Stopped Clock Is Right Twice A Day

I despise Bill-O, but not for the reasons you may believe I despise him; I despise him because I am 150% certain a guy with his pedigree couldn’t possibly be as stupid as the guy who hosts his TV show. Occasionally, he lets his actual persona bleed into his broadcasts (I still remember a 2004 broadcast when he let slip that he suspected John Kerry was the better of the two major party candidates. He fixed himself afterward, but he’d made the slip.)

At the opposite end of the hot air right wing gaggle of pundits is Laura Ingraham. I believe that she is every bit as stupid as she sounds, and that her stupidity may be uneclipsed; if anyone gets close, it’s that miserable inbred Michelle Malkin. As phony as Bill-O is in his ignorant front, Laura is every bit as genuine in hers. So I’m not having too much trouble believing that a showman like Bill-O might well get exasperated when trying to deal with a complete idiot like Laura Ingraham.

And exasperated, Bill-O did indeed get.

Wednesday on Fox News, host Bill O’Reilly praised First Lady Michelle Obama, whom he had met at the White House holiday party the previous evening. “The President and First Lady were very gracious to me,” he said, adding that he was “impressed” with Michelle Obama. “She’s charismatic, articulate, and beautiful,” O’Reilly said of the First Lady. Last night on Fox, when right-wing radio host Laura Ingraham teased O’Reilly for “gushing” over Michelle Obama, O’Reilly called her a “blind ideologue“:

INGRAHAM: I’m gushing over your gushing last night about the Christmas party. I’m still trying to get over that.

O’REILLY: Wait, a minute. I’m going to call you — I’m calling you out on this. [...] I thought she was very nice at the party. [...] You are a blind ideologue who even if somebody’s nice to you, won’t admit it because you’re talking about a Kool-aid drinker. [...] You have an IV attached to your arm on the Kool-Aid.

I can’t argue with Bill-O when he tells the truth, and he sure as hell told the truth this time. Laura Ingraham is about as low as you can get, and so stupid she probably has no choice but to use pads.

I mean, to go to the hairdresser and say, “I want THAT” you have to be an idiot.

Still, I don’t know if O’Reilly is not a worse person for saying things he doesn’t believe in for a living, especially when the things he says hurt so many people. He’s intelligent and he has charisma, and yet he uses it all to hurt others.

That’s why I despise him, OM.

He’s a total piece of crap, but occasionally, like you pointed out, JR, one gets a glimpse of the part of him not totally into his own hype. It’s rare, but it happens. More than one can say about the other fox’ish pundits, which still isn’t saying much.

O’Reilly is a scumbag. I’m glad I got rid of my cable.

On the other hand, he is smart enough to know that he has to occasionally say something flattering about the President or someone attached to the president to avoid being called an Kool-Aid drinker, himself. He might just be taking the opportunity to say something nice that has no real political relevance.

I’m not sure that I’m actually craven enough to believe that but I wouldn’t be surprised if that was the case.

He does this schtick)sp_ for the ratings and the money. The problem I have with him is he is taking so many un and under educated ninnies with him on his insanity. Him and Beckkk. I give him a week or so and he will be back to hating on them, maybe less than that. Gretchen Carlson is another one, this woman is so educated and she sits there bobbing her head along with the other morons. She is a grad from my own school, Stanford, and studied at Oxford. You don’t get that by being stupid, well maybe you do. Jon Stewart skewered her for not knowing what czar and ignoramus was I believe were the words. Said she needed to stop playing to the aforementioned undereducated ninnies.

Laura Ingram gives blonds a bad reputation.
