FBI Agent: Rushpubliscum “Values” are Destroying America

There is, perhaps, one difference between those of us on the left that is larger than any of the other differences we have with the “values” bunch of the right.

We of the left do not try to find ways to excuse criminal behavior among politicians who are considered “liberals.” I was quite happy that Jefferson down in Louisiana got himself a 13 year sentence, and I wish it was longer. I am also most certainly concerned about Rangel’s dealings, and I believe the principled thing to do would be to remove him from any Congressional leadership positions until the issues can be resolved. I didn’t have any use for old helmet-head Blago either. And seeing Spitzer in print all the time just pisses me off. He was an inspirational figure who turned out to be a piece of shit-why should we have to listen to him AT ALL?

Rushpubliscums, on the other hand, seem unwilling to rebuke any of their icons when they are caught stealing. As a result of this, the Reign of Error (2001-2006 especially) is without a doubt the most corrupt Government this country has ever seen. Chimpy, and his Rushpubliscum handmaidens in Congress, turned every Federal program they could find into a cash cow for kicking back taxpayer money to Chimpy’s cronies. It is estimated that around a TRILLION dollars simply vanished from the Department of Defense. Chimpy’s subcontractor pals at Halliburton and KBR collected mountains of cash and provided negligible services, like the Walter Reed “roach motels” for our wounded soldiers and the “electro-showers” in Iraq that cleanly zapped at least a dozen of our GIs. The Medicare prescription drug “benefit” plan was written by pharmas, for pharmas, with guarantees that they’d never be bothered with anything like having to explain their prices to the Government. The list of Rushpubliscum thefts and shady deals is endless, and I certainly don’t have the time to cover even a fraction of them; these are the highlights.

The Rushpubliscums were put on notice in 2006 and 2008 that their corruption had finally reached an extent that was going to cost them at the ballot box. How did they react? They chose as the “leaders” of their rump Congressional delegation “Junket John” Boehner (a guy who used to pass out lobbyist checks on the House floor,) and “Mooch” McConnell, a guy who is well known for his practice of of earmarking money in Senate bills for his campaign contributors.

They are just as bad now as they were at the height of Chimpy’s reign, and they are unrepentant about it. The reason they are doing nothing but opposing everything this President does is not out of some kind of concern about the money being spent (we know all too well from their record under Chimpy that they don’t give a damn about that.) Their aim here is to do whatever they can do to destroy this President, in the hopes that they can restore their corrupt gravy train. That’s why they never mention any alternatives; “STEAL” is the whole of their program for America.

And it’s killing us.

Addressing businessmen in Florida, where financial fraud cases jumped by 42 percent in the last year, FBI Miami Division Special Agent in Charge John Gillies said failures in personal ethics and integrity sowed the initial poisonous seeds of corruption in a society.

Gillies said transgressions by high-profile public servants and even perceived social role models, like top golfer Tiger Woods, currently embroiled in allegations that he had extramarital affairs, sent the signal to young Americans that cheating and stealing were acceptable.

“Where do our children learn this? They see us, their elected officials, their sports stars, they see how they act and they figure, ‘well it’s OK,’” he said, citing the case of Woods, whose early morning car accident in Florida last month triggered a storm of media questioning of his clean-living reputation.

“Money can’t buy everything,” Gillies said in a speech to the West Boca Chamber of Commerce in Boca Raton, Florida.

Gillies is right, but he’s missing part of it.

Why is it that we in this country worship wealth, but we sneer at sacrifice? How can Caribou Barbie make “community activist” into something to be ridiculed, and then be worshiped for drawing a multimillion-dollar payout for a book she most certainly did not write? It’s the right wing in this country that worships wealth, and they don’t really care HOW someone got wealthy, as the Caribou Barbie example points out.

She’s not the only example, by a long shot.

-Chimpy’s grandpappy made a lot of his money selling stuff to Nazis. The Rushpubliscums regard the Bush clan as a great patriotic American family in spite of the way they got their money.

-Halliburton made a hell of a lot of their money by selling stuff to Saddam and the ayatollahs of Iran. The right wing thinks that Dick Cheney (who was in charge while a lot of this was going on) should run for President in 2012.

Then there’s DeLay, Frist (who left the Senate about the same time the Government started investigating his family’s for-profit healthcare firm,) Hastert (who bought land he turned around and sold to the Government after making sure that a highway would be constructed through it,) Rick Renzi, Duke Cunningham, Bob Ney….. I could go on and on in this vein. Each and every one of these guys is still a respected voice in the “conservative” movement. They are still idols because in the right wing, nothing is out of bounds. If you complain about the very real corruption of Rushpubliscums, the Rushpubliscums will start crying about some made-up shit that supposedly “proves” that the dems are just as bad.

Maybe THIS is why the kids get the idea that there are no ethical limits. Rushpubliscums have been practicing rot for a century, and hiding behind a flag and a cross when they do it. In the world of the right wing, the “patriots” are the ones who bend us over and hump us until we bleed. Someone who actually tries to help people, as our present President certainly did in his younger days, is made the butt of jokes.

Them’s some “values” those Rushpubliscums have. Perhaps we ought to be teaching the kids that being rich doesn’t automatically make you something to be admired.

No, but as Tiger can tell you, “If ya got a billion or so, ya can buy a harem of hookers.”
