She Had to Come Back, to the Great WHITE North

Most of us would absolutely relish the chance to go to school in Hawaii. A tropical paradise is, it seems to me, nearly an ideal setting for one to live and learn in.
Of course, you and I would probably be OK with living among Polynesians; in my younger days, I coulda dug hanging out with some of those beautiful Hawaiian ladies. Of course, (1.) I’m half Cherokee, and (2.) I never considered myself to be a member of a master race, so Hawaii would have been the ultimate trip for me.
For Caribou Barbie, however, hanging out with a bunch of brown slant-eyed types was just more than her Aryan sensibilities could bear. At least, that’s what her dad says.
Sam Tanenhaus’ New Yorker review of Sarah Palin’s book, as well as another book about the former governor, contains this nugget:
Palin, though notoriously ill-travelled outside the United States, did journey far to the first of the four colleges she attended, in Hawaii. She and a friend who went with her lasted only one semester. “Hawaii was a little too perfect,” Palin writes. “Perpetual sunshine isn’t necessarily conducive to serious academics for eighteen-year-old Alaska girls.” Perhaps not. But Palin’s father, Chuck Heath, gave a different account to [Scott] Conroy and [Shushannah] Walshe [authors of 'Sarah From Alaska']. According to him, the presence of so many Asians and Pacific Islanders made her uncomfortable: “They were a minority type thing and it wasn’t glamorous, so she came home.”
This is the heroine of a substantial number of the knuckle-dragging Rushpubliscum “base.” It doesn’t matter that she’s never been able to finish anything she ever started. It doesn’t matter that she’s a pathological liar. It doesn’t matter that she’s clearly a failure in every aspect of her life, professional and personal. It doesn’t even matter that she’s an idiot. All that matters is that she praises Jesus, and that she hates anyone not exactly like her.
That’s pretty much all you have to do these days to impress the voters who will decide who the Rushpubliscum Presidential candidate will be. And they wonder why I can’t do anything but sneer at and belittle them.

This is why they love her so much, same as they do Limbaugh. She’s putting the same racism they share on a national stage. And because they are all blancos it somehow goes unpunished.

The Rushpubliscum Party is the successor organization to the Ku Klux Klan. Same philosophy, different costumes.

I’m sure they all had the temerity to look at her while she was there, too!
