Could Someone Notify the MSM?

We, the public, are intensely interested in the healthcare debate going on right now.
We’d also like to hear more about the economy, and what is going to be done about the jobs situation.
We’re also quite concerned about Iraq and Afghanistan.
However…. it seems to a lot of us that all we ever hear about is Caribou Barbie, and we’re tired of her. Yes, she is shopping a thoroughly discredited pack of lies book at the moment, but given all the troubles we are facing…. dont’cha think maybe a little more focus on those troubles would be better?
Yeah, I take pretty regular shots at the Wasilla White Trash, but I’m a blogger. Even so, you can probably find more news here most of the time than the MSM provides.
That’s just plain sad.
Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s book may be selling even faster than it can be printed, but a survey of what news piqued the public’s interest this week found people were far more interested in what’s going on with health care. The debate over health care debate was the week’s top story in terms of news coverage, according to a study by the Project for Excellence in Journalism.
Palin’s book tour has drawn nearly as much coverage as the controversy over mammogram guidelines, according to the Pew Research Center’s latest weekly News Interest Index, conducted Nov. 20-23 among 1,002 adults. But reports about the new guidelines attracted far more interest among the public, the survey found: “Most Americans (52%) say they have been hearing too much about Palin, while 26% say they have been hearing the right amount and 13% say they have been hearing too little about her.”
And you can bet that the 13% is actually hiding inside and around the 26%. The percentage of knuckle-draggers remains more or less constant, so we know this.
Apparently, the knuckle-draggers are in fact the MSM’s core audience.

Crikey, she’s such a stooge. Not even a good one, like Larry or Curly or Moe, just a run-of-the-mill stooge. The MSM really does think we’re all stupid, don’t they?

Here’s what I noticed. It’s almost as if they think they’re covering a campaign.
MSNBC dispatched Mrs. Greenspan to cover Palin’s Grand Rapids, MI book signing. Andrea accorded Palin the same respect as a presidential candidate.
FIXED Noise had 4 national reporters following Palin. They even got busted for planting questioners in the crowd to make the coverage appear more campaign-like.
CNN took a break from their “Black in America” and “Hispanic in America” news magazines to actually report and hang on Palin’s every word.
I’m telling you, Palin IS running in 2012. The MSM has decided to begin the 2012 campaign 3 years early. The MSM is steering the car and we’re all just spectators.

I wonder if CNN has a “Stupid in America” segment.
Christopher,
I almost wrote that it’s just because right now she’s newsworthy, people will wise up. Well except for that 25%. But Palin really should’ve flamed out by now with all the negative publicity.
I work with teabaggers,I know they can’t be reasoned with. But DAMN. Is the American public really this stupid ?

It’s been all Sarahbellum all the time for over a week, and I was sick to death of it the first day. The GOP and movement conservatives are pushing the media to do this. They want a rock-star attention getter, and Boss Limbaugh and Michael Steele aren’t filling the bill. So, they want Palin’s book to succeed, if they have to buy a million copies themselves and send them to paper recyclers and landfills to get rid of them.
The week’s highlight was when the wingnut high priestess of populism walked out on a whole lot of gullible drones who had shown up at an Indiana Borders, bought her prefab book and stood in line for hours to get her autograph. No reason, no apology. Just out the door and gone.
As for core audiences and knuckledraggers, what’s that old saw . . . you’ll never go broke underestimating Americans’ taste.

Maybe now that Unterfuhrer Beck has denounced her, the others will follow suit.
