He’s Still An Ass, and A Crock
A loser at the job of Attorney General who was simply ignored by Chimpy and “Electrode Al” Gonzales when they didn’t like something he said, John Asscrock is a sorry sack who seldom let the Constitution get in the way of pursuing the right wing agenda that he and the moronic monkey shared. I think it really says something about the Reign of Error when you look back and realize that Asscrock actually objected to some of Chimpy’s torturing, rights-trampling ways.
Ah, but that’s all in the past now, and Asscrock really didn’t object all THAT strongly anyway. He is no fan of the American system of justice, as he makes clear with his pack of stupid assertions.Remember as you read this that the stupid assertions Asscrock is making are the typical Rushpubliscum wheel of lies; no one, at any time, has ever shown that trying a terrorist in American courts has ever led to anything. I find it almost unbelievable that this ass would try to say that it would never have occurred to anyone to fly planes into buildings if we hadn’t tried people in court.
I know these guys just LOVE stretches, but you could wrap this stretch around the world about 500 times and still have enough to throw it to the moon.
Former U.S. attorney general John Ashcroft said Friday that prosecuting terrorists in federal court in New York rather than a military tribunal jeopardizes the safety of Americans.
At a news conference in Overland Park, Ashcroft, a former two-term Missouri governor and senator, said information coming out of a future trial could provide important intelligence to terrorists.
Ashcroft was in Overland Park to help raise money for fellow Republican Todd Tiahrt’s campaign for the U.S. Senate. Tiahrt, of Wichita, currently serves in the U.S. House from Kansas’ 4th District.
He said the decision to try the suspects in the Sept. 11, 2001, attack on the World Trade Center was President Barack Obama’s, not U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder’s alone.
“When the Defense Department has someone in detention … it takes the president’s decision if it’s to be changed from the Defense Department to the Justice Department,” Ashcroft said. “The attorney general doesn’t have the authority to order the secretary of defense around.”
Ashcroft said the decision puts New York at risk for future terrorist activity.
“It also puts America at risk if it requires the revelation of information, which could be damaging to our intelligence-gathering and defense operations,” he added. “I think we are still in a very significant war on terror, and the administration doesn’t appear to believe it.”
He said information released at the trial of Muslim extremists convicted in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing became “very valuable to Osama bin Laden, as a matter of fact, who was in Sudan at the time.”
HOW, Mr. Asscrock? You and your idiot pals always say this shit, but you never, ever offer even a scintilla of evidence to back any of it up.
Can you imagine how much pissing this bunch would have done back in WWII, when we housed SS guys and the like in our POW camps? They’d have all become dehydrated from pissing themselves with fear.
I will be so DAMNED glad when this bunch of lying, sadistic, hypocritical cowards FINALLY passes from the political scene.

John Ashcroft is out of government and he needs to shut the fuck up.
His opinion isn’t germane to the current administration and how they handle the mess left behind by Ashcroft’s former boss.

His opinion isn’t worth a dime to anyone who believes in the American system.
Oh, and he’s a lying chickenhawk coward piece of shit, to boot.

He had his chance if he wanted one (which he didn’t) and he blew it. Time to, as Christopher said, shut the fuck up.

“Former U.S. attorney general John Ashcroft said Friday that prosecuting terrorists in federal court in New York rather than a military tribunal jeopardizes the safety of Americans.”
Right, I can see OBL and his lieutenants sitting around the fire in their Mountainside cave. One says: “Hey, the infidel devils are trying our brothers in something called ‘military commissions,’ in Cuba. What should we do about this?”
OBL replies, “Never mind about it. Let them become martyrs for the cause. What the hell.
“Now, if they had sent them to New York for trial, that would be a different matter. Then, we would’ve had to attack the Americans again, in reprisal. But military commissions, no problem.”
Do the incompetents of the Republican right really think the rest of us are dumb enough to believe that? Can Ashcroft really be that emptyheaded? With all I know about these people, I still find this one hard to believe.

I’m guessing old ass forgot that the AG is not the presidents go to man the way he was. Maybe he is just forgetting that whole part about the AG being the HMFIC of law enforcement for the AMERICAN people not the presidents personal attorney. In one word answer form to the questions you posed SW: Do the incompetents… and Can Ashcroft be…. YES. I don’t find it hard to believe at all. Revision of history has always been their deal and will continue to be their deal.

They’ve got hundreds more waiting in the wings. And this country full of imbeciles will quickly usher them in.
