Eat It, Rushpubliscum Whores

Oh WA'AHOld Friends, John and Jack

Their owners sure can’t say that their whores didn’t work their tricks every way they knew how.

They’ve promised us snuff panels that’ll off us when we reach a certain age. They’ve promised us that we’ll pay more than ever, but we’ll never be able to so much as get treated for an ingrown toenail without clearing it with a bureaucrat. They’ve even rallied racist, anti-Semitic, de facto Nazi armed mobs in front of town hall meetings, in an effort to scare Congresscritters away from voting for healthcare reform.

In spite of all their lies, and all their intimidation tactics, it appears the Rushpubliscums have lost the first round, which means they’ve lost. This, I believe, will go through the reconciliation process in the Senate if they can’t get it through any other way.

It may be that, at long last, we won’t be at the mercy of some bean counter somewhere if we seek treatment for our illnesses. Perhaps they won’t be able to jack up our premiums for nothing anymore, and then dare us to complain about it.

Perhaps. Perhaps not, at least not right away. But this is, even as flawed as it is, a serious blow to the pieces of shit who have happily been killing us for years in the name of greed. Once we hammer them with this blow, we can get out the chisel and chip away at what’s left of them.

Hours before an expected vote on a sweeping health care bill, House Democrats believe they’ve secured the 218 votes they need to approve the bill, several party insiders said.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi took to the House floor about 6:30 p.m. to say, “Today we will pass the Affordable Health Care for America Act… We will make history. We will also make progress for America’s working families.”

In response to a question about whether the bill would pass when she brought it up, Pelosi told reporters Saturday night, “That is our expectation.”

House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio), also on the House floor, called the requirement that individuals purchase insure “the most unconsitutional thing I’ve seen in my life.”

Thirty-four Democrats have publicly declared their opposition to the bill, giving party leaders the narrowest possible margin to push the bill across the finish line. But numerous sources said Democrats believe they do have the votes after a day of intense lobbying of wavering Democrats.

Only one Republican is expected to break ranks and vote yes on the bill, Louisiana Rep. Joseph Cao, who represents a heavily Democratic New Orleans-area previously occupied by indicted former Rep. William Jefferson.

Votes have a tendency to shift in the final hours before a controversial vote, but Democratic leaders were expressing more genuine confidence as the sun set over the Capitol than they had exhibited all week. Word started spreading around 5 p.m. that leaders had the votes they needed to pass the $1.2 trillion bill.

Pelosi had all but predicted passage of a House health reform bill earlier Saturday, following an emotional appeal from President Barack Obama to fellow Democrats urging them to “answer the call of history” and vote yes.

But she and her top lieutenants earlier stopped short of saying they had the 218 votes needed for passage – signaling a day of vote-wrangling and arm-twisting that has stretched into Saturday night.

And Pelosi spokesman Nadeam Elshami declined to comment. “We are not commenting on whip counts,” Elshami said.

There is no more despicable, or useless, a racket in this country anywhere as the health insurance racket is. Even the old mobsters that forced businesses to pay for “protection” would guarantee that your business would see no harm as long as you paid. Not so with the health insurer extortionists; they fix it so you can’t even get in to see someone without them, and then they deny payment to make sure that their executives can continue to draw those multimillion dollar bonuses and salaries. You pay your premiums, and you die anyway. A sweet deal for the greedy, callous health insurers, but not so hot for the rest of us.

I’m not, as you know, a fan of the DP, but if I heard that the CEOs of Aetna and United Health had been dragged out of their mansions and lynched tonight, I’d certainly disapprove. However… I’d understand why. These people murder thousands of Americans every year by remote control.

I saw every fucking minute of the carnage yesterday. As a single-payer advocate, I guess I should be glad it passed..but with the inclusion of that fucking Stupak amendment..I am not all that giddy about it.

  2. JollyRoger Says:

Give it some time, Dusty. We’re setting the precedent right now. We’ll go from there.

  3. Bee Says:

HUZZAH! This isn’t the final bill, though – it is better than the Senate version, though, but we’ll see how badly they screw it up more between now and when it hits the Prez Desk.

Stupak isn’t as onerous as some on the left are saying. Mostly it just reiterates current federal funding positions regarding elective abortions.

What a drama queen. It’s incredible Bonehead can say that after eight years of Bush, Cheney and the rest of the crackpot crusaders repeatedly trampling the Consitution. Doubters should read John Dean’s excellent Worse Than Watergate, especially the part about Bush ignoring the Consitution, statutory law and the expressed will Congress in taking the country to war in Iraq. There were clear grounds for impeachment in that episode alone.

“Even the old mobsters that forced businesses to pay for “protection” would guarantee that your business would see no harm as long as you paid.” LOL.

“Hey, Vinnie says you have a pre-existing condition.”

“Hey Tony, look at dis! Exclusion J paragraph 12b says we don’t owe him nuthin!”

    Jolly,

Did you know Button Eyes was kicked out of the Navy 40 odd years ago for “homosexual activity”?

No wonder he needed a beard to be presentable to the GOP.

    Thus entire Elaine Chao.

Yeah, I know. I’ve made a couple of posts on Mooch’s true life :)
