South Carolina has one of the highest unemployment rates in the country. So millions of South Carolinians are living a life that is, in a small way, very similar to the kind of life their Governor leads.

There are differences, of course. While their Governor fought hard to keep the unemployed in South Carolina from getting even an extra day of unemployment compensation, he sees himself as entitled to continue to draw a salary even though the only things he actually does these days are either chasing women in other countries, or disappearing with his wife here in America. I’m sure that unemployed South Carolinians, who are facing the prospect of living in the streets, would enjoy an opportunity to travel while they do nothing, too-but if the ordinary South Carolinian was to suggest that maybe he or she ought to be allocated a little travel money with their unemployment compensation, I’m sure Hard Mark would have a fit! HE doesn’t believe that the employment situation is all that bad anyway! Why encourage these bums to be lazy? It’s bad enough that unemployment benefits are allowing the lazy slouches to sit around and do nothing as it is now!

Yeah, those are surely some fine “values” Sanford has. I wonder if any of the idiots who voted this lazy philanderer into office TWICE are having any buyer’s remorse now?

South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford has cleared his schedule this week to take a personal trip with his wife, three weeks after announcing his extramarital affair with an Argentine woman, his office announced Wednesday.

Sanford is taking off the rest of the week for a trip out of state with first lady Jenny Sanford, spokesman Joel Sawyer said.

“This trip is personal in nature, and we’re not going to offer any further comment,” said Sawyer, who said the couple will be gone through this coming weekend. “The governor remains committed to repairing the damage he’s done to his marriage, and so it shouldn’t be any surprise that spending personal time with his wife is a part of that process.”

The couple’s four sons will not be with them on the trip, Sawyer said.

Sanford disappeared over Father’s Day weekend, without his staff or security detail knowing his whereabouts. Upon his return June 24, he confessed he had been in Argentina with his mistress and he had misled his staff to think he was hiking the Appalachian Trail.

Later, in interviews with The Associated Press, he called Maria Belen Chapur his “soul mate” and disclosed dalliances — that he said stopped short of sex — with other women.

The Sanfords spent the July Fourth weekend in Florida, where Jenny Sanford’s parents live. The governor and first lady were married in Florida 20 years ago.

The people of the State of South Carolina would be a lot better off if Hard Mark would just STAY in Florida. Maybe then, they could actually get themselves a Governor who works for a living. It is for certain that the Mark Sanford “stimulus” plan isn’t doing them any good.
