News on the despicable son of a bitch is coming out so fast now that it’s hard to keep up.
Yes, Sanford is an elitist who figures that any of his constituents that starve to death deserve to do so, as we’ve been pointing out for a long time now. And yes, anybody with half a brain knew that Sanford almost had to be a hypocrite, because all those poor-hating “values” types are.
The other certainty about Sanford’s type, as we all know, is corruption; find a “values” Rushpublican politician that doesn’t treat the public money like a private slush fund. Sanford couldn’t possibly be any different, because they are all exactly alike.
Yes indeedy, they are all alike. The good Governor of South Carolina has apparently been dipping into the revenues of a State with a 12% unemployment rate for funding for his Argentinian trysts.
South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford spent more than $21,000 of taxpayers’ money on international travel last year, at least part of which was spent on travel to Argentina — where his mistress is located.
At a press conference Wednesday, Sanford admitted to having an extra-marital affair with a woman living in Argentina. The stunning revelation explained the father-of-four’s week-long absence from home and office, which took place over the Father’s Day weekend.
But no sooner had Sanford given his confession than bloggers picked up on an article from the Augusta Chronicle, which listed travel expenses for state officials and agencies.
Gov. Mark Sanford ranks in the top 50 [travel spenders] based on the total amount he spent on trips paid by his office and those paid by the state Commerce Department. Mr. Sanford has traveled to China, Argentina and Brazil through the Commerce Department, which has travel reports showing taxpayers covering $21,488 for those trips.
Mr. Sanford also spent $1,976 in travel through his office.
That prompted Chris Geidner of the Law Dork 2.0 blog to quip: “Looks like we have a whole new definition of ‘stimulus funds’.”
Nah, not really. We have here the already well-known definition of a “family values conservative.”

Yes, if figures Sanford would not only cheat on his wife, but stick South Carolina taxpayers with much or all the tab. If this sorry sleazeball doesn’t resign the legislature ought to start impeachment proceedings.
On the home front, I hope his missus’ frying pan is made of iron and that her aim is perfect.
