As Good an Idea as “Christians for the Taliban”

I have said it many times now; the average Rushpublican simply isn’t very smart. They will vote to slash their own throats over and over again, chanting the stupid Rushpublican mantras that their “leaders” never had any intention of actually living by. The intelligent Republicans have been gone for years now; the only ones left are the bigoted, the zealots, and the ignorant.

Here’s a perfect example of Rushpublican stupidity. It makes about as much sense for gay Americans to belong to the Republican Party as it would for people to take their kids to a Michael Jackson Daycare Center-and yet, here they are. I don’t know if they think that they can influence the Rushpublican agenda by the simple act of changing their name, but I have some news for them: it ain’t gonna work. The Rushpublicans are a racist, misogynistic, xenophobic, and homophobic organization, and I question the sanity of anyone not white and a multimillionaire that continues to swear his or her allegiance to this bunch of scum.

Two former National Log Cabin Republicans staffers announced Friday the formation a new GOP group, which they will lead.

GOProud, the new 527 group, will be officially unveiled at a press conference Wednesday at the Capitol Hill Club in Washington, according to a media advisory. The press conference is set for the same week that gay Republicans are gathering in D.C. for the annual Log Cabin convention.

The new organization is slated to represent “gay conservatives and their allies,” according to the media advisory. As a 527 group, GOProud is a nonprofit that will work to educate people on public policy issues or the merits of candidates running for political office.

Jimmy LaSalvia, a former Log Cabin policy director, will be GOProud’s executive director, while Chris Barron, a former Log Cabin political director, will serve as the board chair. Bruce Carroll, a blogger at GayPatriot.net, will serve as a director and a board member, LaSalvia said.

GOProud will be different from Log Cabin, LaSalvia said, in that the new group will focus entirely on federal issues and elections.

“Gay Republicans don’t have a strong voice in Washington on federal issues and that’s where the void is,” he said.

There’s a reason for that, Einstein: YOU ARE THEIR SCAPEGOAT. The Rushpublicans have to have a bogeyman, because they cannot govern. Nobody would vote for the Rushpublicans on their record of governance, so they get all their votes by pandering to the hatreds of their “base.” Thus it is, and thus it likely will stay.

A gay American expecting to have a voice in Rushpublican politics is about like a woman going to Ted Bundy to learn how to protect herself from abduction and rape.

Now the bastards can complete their facade of inclusion. They really sicken me!

  2. Larry Says:

No doubt they will be portrayed as liberal and subjected to holding secret summits with Larry Craig and Tom Delay while being attacked by closet freak Limbaugh.

  3. Bee Says:

Jim you are so right, this will only add to the aura of inclusion that the repubes have been trying to cultivate since the election. They must think we’re as stupid as they are.

  4. JollyRoger Says:

Bee, that’s exactly what their problem is. They keep losing elections because they no longer run against their ACTUAL opponents. They run against their CARICATURES of their opponents. That might be good for radio ratings, but it is shitty politics.

  5. Brother Tim Says:

Actually, I think “Christians for the Taliban” is a much better idea. ;)
