Jolly Roger’s Blogroll Amnesty Day Picks

Blogroll Amnesty Day, 2009 This idea originates with one of the Web’s most respected “conservative” bloggers, the venerable Jon Swift, working with one of the great bloggers of the correct persuasion, Blue Gal.  They decided to pick 5 blogs with less traffic than they were getting for a little bit of sunshine, in an effort to make us aware that there are some really great reads out there. It’s a good idea, and I am happy to participate. These are the 5 blogs that I regularly read that I think are worthy of a few minutes of your time; not that I don’t think that ALL the blogs in my blogroll are worthy of your time, but the rules is the rules. They said pick 5, so I’m picking 5.

Common Nonsense is the ravings of a well educated, and properly frustrated, she-devil. Whether her rants are political or societal, I always enjoy stopping by. I even comment sometimes.

Denford Magora’s Zimbabwe Blog will give you a view of the troubles in Zimbabwe that you absolutely will not receive from any media that I know of. Hear about the struggle for freedom from the strugglers THEMSELVES. I’ve been hooked on this one since I first opened it up. The background that Denford puts into every post will make your understanding of both Zimbabwe and southern Africa far stronger.

I’ve been digging Wordsmith over at Left Side of the Moon for a long time. Now it’s your turn.

I’m going to round this list out with a couple of newer additions to the Reconstitution blogroll, written by newer people than me; The Modern Left and Youth Politics. TML is a rust-belter like myself, and Youth Politics offers interesting perspectives on the problems of today.

Why don’t you spend a few minutes looking them over?

    Hi JR,

Thanks a lot for the praise. As you know I read this blog every chance my internet connection gives me a bit of relief from crashes!

I think what you said about my blog can also be said about yours but in relation to American politics. I have learnt a lot of things I did know of before here.

    Onwards and upwards!
