Party of Fear

As everyone knows, the Rushpubliscum Party has been a string of endless failures on all fronts for the better part of the last 30 years. About the only thing that they’ve done well, is to scare people. As fearmongers, the GOP is second to none. They have used the fear of minorities, women,  neighbors, the Teletubbies, and CFL light bulbs to keep a solid chunk of American voters (those voters being ill-informed and frightened of anything outside their front door) voting GOP, long after it became apparent to the majority of us that the Rushpubliscum Party cannot manage a budget, grow an economy, or fix a pothole. They only know how to keep Americans frightened. And one of their most reliable stable of bogeymen has been the mullahs of Iran. Rushpubliscums have insisted that Iran is out to destroy us all (except for when Saint Ronnie needed them to hold hostages to ensure his election, or when he sold them arms in exchange for hostages.) The loss of the Iranian bogeyman would be another serious blow to a party that can scarcely afford many more blows, since its core of white, senior citizen supporters are dropping off like flies, and younger people have precious little reason to turn to the GOP for anything, unless they can be scared into doing so.

It looks like the President may have started the ball rolling on taking away one of their most valuable bogeymen. Is it any wonder they hate him so much? First he puts the ACA through, which is likely to become a success after some fine-tuning. And now this?

It was a phone call heard around the world.

President Obama and new Iranian President Hassan Rouhani ended 34 years of estrangement between the two countries by speaking on the telephone Friday

They agreed to work toward resolving the bitter dispute over Iran’s nuclear program.

“While there will surely be important obstacles to moving forward, and success is by no means guaranteed, I believe we can reach a comprehensive solution,” Obama said at the White House.

It was the first direct contact between the Presidents of the U.S. and Iran since the Iranian revolution and takeover of the American embassy in Tehran in 1979.“Quite amazing,” a top United Nations in Geneva official told the Daily News. “A great, great sign. Wonderful.”

No October Surprise is going to save the Rushpubliscum Party now, if the world begins to calm down. Americans are coming to realize that the most dangerous terrorist organization operational in the US today holds the majority in the House of Representatives. If Obama starts getting rid of their competition, they may well have to merge with al Qaeda to have any hope of influencing American politics in the future.

It’s getting really ugly for them. I expect even worse moves out of them than we’ve already seen.
