With Friends Like Johnny’s….

Values! How many times have you heard it? “A man is judged by the company he keeps.” I think we can agree with this, especially after suffering through the corruption, bloodthirstiness, and stupidity of the Reign of Error. Who you have around you is an excellent indicator of who and what it is you, yourself, are.

What, then, does the company he keeps tell us about John McCavein? He’s had to publicly repudiate his “spiritual advisers” John Hagee and Rod Parsley, mainly due to the fact that he could no longer count on the press to keep their hatemongering, corrupt ways out of the public eye (but the press continues to avoid asking any questions about what Johnny saw in them in the first place, in sharp contrast to the MSM lynching Barack Obama received over Jeremiah Wright.) And when he isn’t publicly disavowing his buddies, he’s having to disavow their views, as he had to do after his top economic adviser Phil Gramm called Americans “whiners” because we’re concerned about how well we’ll navigate the total collapse of the economy. Gramm’s callous comment about America having the world’s only overweight poor also doesn’t do Johnny much good. Hanging out with THIS bunch has given Johnny more headaches than a dozen beatings back in Hanoi used to give him.

It must be tiresome to constantly be having to explain yourself due to whatever your buddies are saying and doing. It would surely be a lot easier if you could just make them disappear, wouldn’t it? Instead of having to express mock shock at the sayings and doings of your scumbag associates, life would be a lot easier if you could just scrub your association with them. THAT way, you’d NEVER have to face any of those irritating “judgment” questions. Johnny, long weary of having to dance around the activities of his buddies, has decided to do a magic trick concerning his Alabama campaign chairman. A few waves of the magic wand, the proper incantations (in html, of course,) and *POOF!*, Johnny’s relationship with Alabama’s antigay crusader (and reputed closet queen) Troy King will disappear! Johnny won’t have to explain THIS one away!

Not so fast, Johnny. It seems the Pensito Review saw this one coming, and they archived off your campaign’s Alabama roster before you could get rid of it. Let’s see what you had to say about your good buddy Troy BEFORE he wasn’t your buddy.

John McCain 2008 Announces Alabama Leadership Team

ARLINGTON, VA — U.S. Senator John McCain’s presidential campaign today announced its Alabama Leadership Team. United States Congressman Spencer Bachus will serve as the Southeastern United States Congressional Chair of the McCain campaign. Alabama Attorney General Troy King will serve as Chair of the McCain 2008 Alabama campaign. Representative Bachus and Attorney General King will continue to lead the growing grassroots organization on behalf of John McCain’s candidacy in Alabama.

“Lots of candidates talk about the issues important to conservatives. But, only one candidate has a record to back up his rhetoric, and that’s John McCain,” said Congressman Spencer Bachus. “For twenty-four years, John McCain has taken bold positions on the cornerstone conservative issues of life, marriage, and limited government. It is with pride and gratitude that I am supporting my friend, John McCain for president.”

“John McCain is the best hope for conservatives to succeed in November,” said Attorney General Troy King. “He is a principled conservative with a clear record of supporting a strong national defense, fighting for fiscal responsibility, and defending the sanctity of life. John McCain has served our country his entire life, and I am honored to lead his efforts here in Alabama.”

John McCain thanked the leadership of his Alabama campaign. “As a representative in the United States Congress, Spencer has displayed his commitment to the people of Alabama,” said Senator McCain. “Troy is an outstanding public servant and passionate advocate for the rule of law. Both of these men are dedicated to the principles of limited government and traditional values that we share. I’m proud to have Republican leaders and dedicated public servants like Spencer Bachus and Troy King leading my campaign to victory in Alabama.”

Yeah, Troy’s passionate, all right. His wife found out just HOW passionate he is, slightly before she kicked him to the curb for who it was he was passionate WITH.

You might scrub him from your website, Johnny, but you won’t scrub your association with him from view. The blogosphere will see to that, thanks to the excellent save from the Pensito Review.
