The economic news out of Ohio confirms a couple of things.

(1.) is that the President’s policies are moving things in the correct direction, in spite of all the Rushpubliscum attempts to sabotage the economy. (2.) is that Ohio, as one of the states that is steadily benefiting, is further and further from Willard’s reach.

The Romneys do not make good Presidential candidates. But in the case of Willard, in particular, there’s little proof that he was ever a good ANYTHING. Time to go take joyrides in the car elevator.

Unemployment fell sharply last month across the region, including in Butler County, where the rate dropped to 6.6 percent from 7.3 percent in July and from 8.7 percent a year ago, according to figures released Tuesday by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.

Montgomery County had the highest rate of surrounding counties of 7.6 percent. Warren County had the lowest rate at 6 percent, down from 6.3 percent in July. Hamilton County’s was 6.8 percent last month.

The average for the Cincinnati metro region was 6.7 percent, based on figures from state jobs department.

Statewide, August unemployment rates ranged from a low of 4.1 percent in Mercer County to a high of 12.1 percent in Pike, and rates declined in 83 of the 88 counties.

So far this year, month-to-month employment data at county level has shown a steady decline in unemployment, mirroring similar declines in local cities.

For the city of Hamilton, August unemployment fell to 7.2 percent from 7.9 percent in the previous month and 9.5 percent the same month last year. In Middletown, the rate fell to7.8 percent from 8.7 in July and 10.1 a year ago.

Fairfield saw its rate drop to 6.1 percent from 6.6 percent from July to August, while Mason’s rate fell from 5.9 percent in July to 5.4 percent.

This part of Ohio has to go about 80% for Willard in order for him to win Ohio, and he clearly won’t make it with the region getting on its feet. Maybe Husted can still figure out a way to deliver the election to Willard, but that is looking less and less likely.

It’s all good, though. At least he and Queen Ann can finally stop having any contact with THOSE people.
