It seems to me that the arguments for letting Texas get the hell out of the US are just piling up.
They try to block anything not the color of a cue ball from voting, they execute people (at least some of who appear to be innocent of the crimes for which they died) like it’s some kind of a sport where the high scorers win something, their Governor fights tooth and nail to make sure that poor people have no access to healthcare, they’re getting drier than the Sahara, pollution along the border is making Port-Au-Prince look downright sanitary in comparison…. obviously, I could go on and on. But I have a very specific example of why Texas should be allowed to go that I want to talk about.
That example, of course, is Louis Gomer, a guy who puts the “scum” in Rushpubliscum. He’s every bit as stupid as Gomer Pyle was, but he sure as hell isn’t as likable. In fact, he’s not even tolerable. This guy insists on slurring the good names of patriotic Americans who are serving their country, and then turns around and calls a war hero names when the war hero (who is an ACTUAL patriot) objects.
And this is only the latest thing Gomer’s done. One shouldn’t forget about his pithy dismissal of the Colorado murders as being “cuz we done made God go away,” or his longstanding membership in the league of afterbirthers. If this guy represents an American Congressional District, then that whole District needs to go. And in Texas, there are a whole lot of Gomers in office.
Let them go their own way, and utterly destroy themselves. The rest of us will benefit immensely from their absence in our political sphere.
“Normally you don’t go blast somebody on the floor who is a colleague on the same side of the aisle unless you touch base with them,” Gohmert complained during an appearance on the Dennis Miller Show on Tuesday, referring to McCain’s denunciation of the group’s allegations as “nothing less than an unwarranted and unfounded attack.” The fiery Texan then launched into a personal attack against McCain, calling him “numb nuts” and suggesting the Muslim Brotherhood is now influencing him too:
GOHMERT: Well, it’s obvious that John McCain didn’t even read the letter because of what he said in accusing Michele and us of making these horrible accusations. There were five letters and there were many things that are stated that are facts in each letter. And I wish some of these numb nuts would go out and read the letter before they make these horrible allegations about the horrible accusations we’re making. But we also know that John McCain himself had said back in the early stages of stuff going on in Egypt that he was, in his words, “unalterably opposed to helping the Muslim Brotherhood.” Well, obviously the unalterable person has been altered, so he is okay with it now.
Oh, could we make that secession thing a deal where Dennis Miller has to move to Texas? If we could, that would be doubly sweet.
I haven’t seen eye-to-eye with McCain many, many times, but he deserves better than a slur from a lunatic blowhard like Louis Gomer.
