This embarrassment to Ohio, and America, usually lies when reporters ask him questions. But apparently lying isn’t doing what he feels needs to be done, so he’s not even bothering to lie anymore. He just breezes right on by when someone asks him a question.

It’s hard to tell how Josho the Clown’s new routine as a mime is going to go over. Perhaps if the mime act doesn’t work out, he’ll try juggling next. Or maybe he’ll start wearing one of those flowers on his lapel that he can squirt reporters with.

The one thing we know Josho is NOT going to do is the job he was elected to do. He made that clear a long time ago.

Republican Senate candidate Josh Mandel declined to say why he was in Washington today even though his schedule showed that he planned a series of fund-raisers for his campaign to defeat Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio.

Mandel, a first-term state treasurer, was entering a downtown restaurant for a fund-raiser when a reporter introduced himself and asked “what else” Mandel was doing in Washington beside the fund-raiser.

Rather than answer, Mandel walked to the rear entrance of the restaurant. As he did, the reporter asked, “Nothing else?’’ Again, Mandel declined to answer as an aide told him, “Right this way.”

It is not the first time that Mandel has had a non-responsive exchange with reporters covering his campaign. He has declined to respond to questions about an FBI investigation into $105,000 in donations to his campaign from employees of a Canton company. Mandel has returned the contributions.

In addition, Brown’s campaign staff has assailed Mandel for holding fund-raisers outside of Ohio on days when he is supposed to conduct his duties as state treasurer.

Sadie Weiner, a Brown campaign spokeswoman, said that “It’s possible Josh Mandel’s hiding from the press because every time he opens his mouth,’’ fact-check organizations have raised questions about his facts. “But it’s far more likely he was worried about having to answer what he called a “fair question” about the FBI investigation of his donors.”

Who the hell knows, really? There is so much stink on this guy that you can still smell him in Ohio, even though he spends almost none of his time here. If it isn’t the campaign donations, maybe it’s about his constant AWOL status from his job. Or maybe it’s because Mr. “Integrity” packed his staff with a bunch of know-nothing cronies. Or perhaps they wanted to know which Koch he’d be sucking this week. With Josho the Clown, there is always something sleazy to ask him about.

Speaking of sleazy…. you’ll remember how this walking waste decided to dredge up some divorce accusations from a quarter-century ago to try to smear Senator Brown. According to Josho, this is fair in politics. So I’m now going to apply Josho’s political standards to myself, and ask a few questions that Josho probably never thought about when he started smearing Senator Brown.

The first question I’d like to ask Josho is why his own in-laws, by all appearances, did not back his run for Treasurer in 2010. I’d also like to know if there is any truth to the rather persistent rumors in some circles that even HIS OWN WIFE did not vote for him. I do not know if any of these things I’m hearing are true, but Josho doesn’t require anything resembling proof to fling accusations, so I figure I don’t need any proof to ask the questions. I promise you, I’m not making any of this up; I’ve both read and heard of both of the things I’m asking about several times now.

Not that I expect Josho will answer, now that he’s got the mime thing going.
