THIS Is a Big Deal
Robert Reich was about as loyal a Clintonista as existed. He was an employee, but he was also a friend and a confidante. Today’s news that he has decided to endorse Obama carries at least as much weight as Bill Richardson’s endorsement, if not more. And I don’t see it mentioned anywhere in this article, but I’d bet cash that that ABC “debate” the other night probably helped Reich finally make up his mind as it did so many others. We’re ALL tired of Hill’s Chimpromised MSM-abetted bullshit campaign tactics, and that “debate” cemented our utter disgust.
But wait…. there’s more…
Der Rovesmarschall has tried to portray Obama as being to the left of Karl Marx. I would just love to hear that filthy pig explain Sam Nunn’s endorsement of Obama. Will he call Nunn a Marxist too? Nunn was way to the right of a lot of Goppers when it came to national defense issues, and solidly down the middle on domestic issues. His endorsement of Obama will definitely be noted in a lot of environs south of here, although one can expect the Klanservatives to prevail in those parts.
David Boren is also no bleeding-heart, as his Senate record will attest. He’d never have lasted in Oklahoma if he had been. The question of whether or not Obama can forge a pragmatic path is SETTLED.
Former Clinton Cabinet member Robert Reich on Friday endorsed Barack Obama over Hillary Rodham Clinton in the battle for the Democratic presidential nomination.
Two other Democratic elder statesmen, former Sens. Sam Nunn of Georgia and David Boren of Oklahoma, also said they were supporting the Illinois senator.
Reich, who served as Labor secretary under Bill Clinton, said in a blog post that “although Hillary Clinton has offered solid and sensible policy proposals, Obama’s strike me as even more so.”
Reich also said Obama’s plans for reforming Social Security and health care have a better chance of succeeding, and his approach to the nation’s housing crisis and financial market failures are sounder than the New York senator’s.
Reich is a longtime friend of Bill and Hillary Clinton. He ran for governor in Massachusetts in 2002 and now is a professor at the University of California-Berkeley.
A number of other former Clinton cabinet members have endorsed Obama. New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson, who was U.N. ambassador and energy secretary under Clinton, endorsed former rival Obama in March despite heavy wooing by the former president. Former Denver Mayor Federico Pena, who headed the transportation and energy departments under Clinton, became a co-chair of Obama’s campaign last September. Former Clinton Commerce secretaries Norman Mineta and William Daley also have endorsed Obama.
Nunn and Boren will serve as advisers to Obama’s National Security Foreign Policy Team.
Nunn served as chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee from 1987-95, while Boren was the longest-serving chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence.
Both fall into the moderate-conservative end of the Democratic party’s ideological spectrum and gave Bill Clinton trouble during his presidency, trying to tug him to the right on issues while most congressional Democrats were leaning to the left.
Nunn, who recently flirted with his own possible White House bid, said Obama has “a rare ability to restore America’s credibility and moral authority and to get others to join us in tackling serious global problems.”
Boren, who recently played host to a forum on electoral alternatives, including third-party runs, said: “Our most urgent task is to end the divisions in our country, to stop the political bickering, and to unite our talents and efforts. Americans of all persuasions are pleading with our political leaders to bring us together. I believe Senator Obama is sincerely committed to that effort.”

The news just gets better and better for Barack.
Despite the Borg Queen’s relentless attacks on Barack Obama’s qualifications and electability, Hillary Clinton has lost a lot of ground with Democratic voters nationwide going into Tuesday’s critical primary in Pennsylvania, a new NEWSWEEK poll shows.
The survey of 1,209 registered voters found that Obama now leads Clinton by nearly 20 points.
54 percent of registered Democrats prefer Obama to 35 percent for Clinton.
One of the more devastating results for Clinton was that a majority of all registered voters now see her as dishonest and untrustworthy. According to the poll, just 4-in-10 (41 percent) registered voters view the New York senator as honest and trustworthy, while 51 view her as dishonest.

This is very significant.
Wow. I am speechless.

Regarding the ABC debate, go read Will Bunch.

It looks like Obama nailed it when he talked about bitter people who withdraw into narrow issues masking hidden racism.

Scabber, is this not what I’ve been saying all along?

I thought the Same thing when i heard the News today JR…………..looks like the Rats are starting to jump ship so to speak.
For the record I didnt mean that as an isult because I like Reich and Richardson……………and its obvious that the Clinton’s dishonest Rovian smear and fear politics is driving away their supporters and loyalists…………every time I see her I cant help but think she acts just like a repug, in fact she acts very similar to the slimy Neo Con Klanservatives we’ve been railing on for the last 6 plus years.

I can’t stand any of the three.
It’s really all academic anyway. When the Bush/Rove/Fundamentalist hate and slander machine gets going, it is going to chew that Rookie up and spit him out on Pastor Wright’s doorstep! We’re going to hear “Goddamn America” in our sleep. And you know something? Some Democrats are secretly going to vote for McCon, because there’s still a very sizable portion of America that has nightmares over just the thought of a black President, despite their politically correct utterances in public.

Reich also wrote a good article on his blog last week defending Obama’s bitter comment.
Guess Carville will be on CNN this weekend calling Reich a Judas as well.

Amen! What a great day!
April 19th, 2008 at 4:20 pm
I am speechless as well and wonder what Carville has to say now!
This makes one wonder what is wrong with the Clinton campaign, that all its old supporters are jumping ship to Obama.
April 19th, 2008 at 4:50 pm
Wow…I read Reich’s blog periodically. I didn’t watch the debate. Fortunately, I had to work. But she’s slippin’ away.

TFWY, the Rove BS didn’t work in 2006, and things are much WORSE now than they were then. Obama would have to be photographed raping a pig to lose this election.

I sometimes think the MSM is blowing her “popularity” rate to make the race interesting.
I also think Obama wouldn’t mind this pretence of close race!
I really cannot find anyone who likes this hillybilly!
And her deceptive attitude is even transparent to a child!
